Leo Kottke, Esme Patterson, Jeffrey Foucault, The Lowest Pair, The Lumineers (at Chicago Theatre) & More

On Sale Friday: Master acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke returns to SPACE for two special shows this April. Fans of Shavey Graves will recognize the name Esmé Patterson. The singer-songwriter has collaborated with Shakey as well as Denver collective Paper Bird. We’re excited to welcome her to the club as a solo artist, with support from Chicago’s Cold Country. Wisconsin-born songwriter Jeffrey Foucault released Salt As Wolves last year. Listen to a recent interview with Foucault on NPR Morning Edition here. Folk duo The Lowest Pair has been garnering critical acclaim since the release of their debut album, 36¢, which was produced by Trampled By Turtles’ Dave Simonett (who is also headed to SPACE this spring). These shows go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via evanstonspace.com.

Thalia Hall: Our sister venue has announced a show with The Lumineers at Chicago Theatre on June 19. The Denver trio — which made one of its first Chicago-area appearances at SPACE, in 2011 — has just released the single “Ophelia” from its forthcoming album, Cleopatra. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

This Weekend: Minneapolis indie-folk band The Pines hits SPACE on their Above The Prairie tour this Friday with Haroula Rose. Only a few tickets remain for our Valentine’s Day Weekend shows: Saturday brings bluesman Ronnie Baker Brooks back to the club. Nashville singer-songwriter Andrew Ripp is here on Sunday night. And on Monday, it’s the second installment of our Blue Mondays series presented by Lagunitas. Get $8 table seats to see blues legend Jimmy Johnson with Mike Wheeler.

Bluegrass at SPACE: Don’t miss Grammy-winning bluegrass group Steep Canyon Rangers on April 15. A bluegrass musician with a long list of credits, Tim O’Brien, is here with Old Man Luedecke on April 7. Yonder Mountain String Band founding member Jeff Austin will make his debut at the club on March 30, alongside openers Railway Gamblers. And later this month, a great local night of bluegrass comes to the club with Cornmeal and Anderlik, Otto & Church on Friday, Feb. 26.
