On Sale Friday: Nashville singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook comes to SPACE this fall in support of her new album, Exodus Of Venus. Read about the album and listen via Wall Street Journal. Blues-rock guitarist Marc Ford (formerly of The Black Crowes) will be here in November with his Neptune Blues Club band. Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
Coming Up: Next Wednesday, pop-rock singer-songwriter Howie Day is back at the club in support of his new album, Lanterns. Raul Malo of The Mavericks comes to SPACE for three shows over two nights, on Aug. 26-27. We’ve just opened up a handful of tickets for Saturday’s late show, and limited tickets remain for the Friday show.
Blues master Taj Mahal is here for two shows with his trio on Thursday, Sept. 1. The two-time Grammy winner was recently honored with the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement award for his 50-year career. SPACE welcomes neo-soul trio KING back to the club this fall with support from D.C. psychedelic-soul singer Nick Hakim. We had so much fun with trombone-centric NOLA band Bonerama that we’re bringing more Big Easy music to Evanston this winter. Grammy-winning Zydeco man Terrance Simien makes his debut at SPACE on Friday. Looking ahead, we’ve got New Orleans Suspects on Feb. 5 and The Subdudes on Feb. 27-28.
Milwaukee bluesman Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound plays SPACE on Saturday, with an opening set by Chicago’s own Lurrie Bell. On Sunday, SPACE welcomes jazz guitarist Alfonso Ponticelli and his Gypsy Jazz/Flamenco Showcase.
Also, on-sale now: On Feb. 15, SPACE welcomes Eddie Holstein and Steve Dawson: Solo and Together Celebrating the Music of Bob Dylan. In this special afternoon of music from two of Chicago’s folk heroes, Eddie and Steve will perform solo sets of their own material followed by a third set of collaboration focused on the tunes of Bob Dylan.
