Don’t Miss These Jazz Shows at SPACE: Marcus Miller, Billy Cobham, Terence Blanchard, Cecile McLorin Salvant & more this Spring!
SPACE’s listening room is the perfect place to see a jazz concert this spring. We’re bringing world-famous jazz names like Billy Cobham and Marcus Miller as well as some of the biggest stars of jazz today like Terence Blanchard and John Patitucci.
Award-winning bassist Charnett Moffett brings his Nettwork Trio, featuring guitarist Stanley Jordan, to SPACE on March 1. For this special show, the trio will feature Chicago drummer Dana Hall for a one-of-a-kind performance. Get tickets here
On March 10, emerging jazz guitarist Nir Felder returns to SPACE to play The Studios. Felder has been called the “next big jazz guitarist” by NPR. Don’t miss this limited-seating show in our intimate studio space. Get tickets here
Jazz fans also won’t want to miss legendary bassist-composer Marcus Miller, who collaborated throughout the 1980s with Miles Davis and famously wrote and arranged many of the songs on 1986’s Tutu. Miller has led his own projects and collaborated with a range of artists from Dizzy Gillespie to Luther Vandross. This show featuring the bassist and his band is sure to be spring calendar highlight. Perennial SPACE favorite Allen Toussaint returns for his full-band debut at the club. Toussaint’s mix of New Orleans rhythm & blues and jazz never disappoints. What a great way to kick off the spring! Get tickets here
On April 9, Chicago organist Chris Foreman will hold down a stellar local jazz bill at SPACE, featuring tenor saxophonist and Delmark recording artist Ari Brown. Get tickets here
Guitar whiz Charlie Hunter returns to SPACE on April 17, this time featuring his trio formation with New York drummer Bobby Previte and super-funky New Orleans trombonist Carly Meyers. Get tickets here
SPACE is very excited to have drummer Billy Cobham back at SPACE on April 19. Cobham, another Miles Davis alum whose legendary playing helped define jazz in the 1970s and beyond, will lead his Spectrum 40 band featuring guitarist Dean Brown, multi-instrumentalist Gary Husband and bassist Ric Fierabracci. On May 6, famed New Orleans trumpeter and film composer Terence Blanchard will feature his E-Collective (pianist Fabian Almazan, guitarist Charles Altura, bassist Donald Ramsey and drummer Oscar Seaton) in a special show at SPACE. Get tickets here
Bassist John Patitucci brings his Electric Guitar Quartet to Evanston on May 19. Patitucci, an active member of Wayne Shorter’s award-winning quartet, will feature guitarists Steve Cardenas and Adam Rogers along with drummer-multi-instrumentalist Brian Blade (also a member of Shorter’s quartet).
